Marleen M. Durik “Momboo”, 66, of Brooksville, Florida passed away peacefully at home the morning of July 16, 2019 after a long battle with cancer. Born February 28, 1953 and raised in Portage Lakes, OH.
She attended Zion Lutheran and graduated from Coventry High School, class of 1971. She worked as a seamstress in a drapery shop while attending Akron University. She designed and crafted her own costumes for her belly dancing avocation. Marleen had many other hobbies and talents. She studied Tae Kwon Do at Parks School in Copley, OH, and she loved gardening, exotic birds and baking her special apple pie as well as quiche Lorraine. There wasn't a crossword puzzle she couldn't solve. As an avid reader of all types of literature, she was never without a book.
After relocating to Florida in 1982 she spent her career as a Collections Manager for a commercial construction company. Just as in all other avenues she pursued, she excelled at her job, earning “Top Producer” for many years.
Marleen had so many talents and she was beloved by everyone who knew her. Her sharp wit and sense of humor touched so many. She will be dearly missed by all.
